Chelsea Flower Show

london_right_bk
london budgetThe Chelsea Flower Show is organized by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) and is officially called ‘The Great Spring Show’. This horticulturalist event attracts gardening enthusiasts and fauna aficionados from around the United Kingdom. It is possibly the most famous gardening and flower show in the world. Such is its fame and prestige, the Chelsea Flower Show has overtime become part of London’s social season.  It is held at the Royal Hospital Chelsea and attracts massive crowds.

The history of the Chelsea Flower Show stretches back to 1862 where it was held at the RHS garden in Kensington. As the event grew in popularity, both among London society and visitors to the British city, the RHS moved the event to the Royal Hospital Chelsea to accommodate the larger crowds.

From the first glimpse, it is apparent that the Great Spring Show transcends its horticultural roots; this is truly a social gathering of London’s finest. Hospitality packages, for instance, are available for purchase by corporate entities who use the event to reward staff, entertain client or network.

For London visitors who are planning a visit to the Great Spring Show, please note that tickets have to be purchased in advance at the RHS.

Getting to the Royal Hospital Chelsea is easy. The RHS recommends attendees use public transport as the venue is located within the Transport for London congestion zone. Public transport options include the Underground – the Sloane Square Underground Station is a 10 minute walk from the hospital ; bus – where route number 11, 137, 211, 170 and others stop at the Sloane Square bus stop. Parking is available but on a first-come-first-served basis.
